Bikeability

Available for children in the 10-12 year age group who can already ride a bike. This course teaches children the rules of the road, and how to be safe when driving amongst traffic. Children are supervised at all times by a qualified rider, initially on quiet roads and building up to busier areas, we provide children with the skill and confidence it takes to be safe on the road.

BMX

Supervised BMX rides in the skate parks/flatland/pump tracks around Lanarkshire. This will take place in both indoor and outdoor skate parks for biking all year round. See our booking page for events near you. Bikes and safety equipment provided upon request.

Perchy Pond Gentle Gaunts

Meeting at the Newmains Community Trust and setting off from the carpark we go a ride around Perchy Pond every week. If you need a bike or safety equipment get in touch and we'll get you sorted. You'll need to be a competent cyclist to join the gentle park ride. You are responsible for your own safety during the ride and anyone under 16 will be expected to be accompanied by an adult. Wearing of a helmet is mandatory.

Strathclyde Park

On Saturdays throughout the year we visit the Foreshore Car Park (near M&Ds) in Strathclyde Country Park to help get Lanarkshire on 2 wheels. We have an electric trike which can carry up to 4 children, and can be ridden either by a Cairney Cycles team member, or the children's parent or guardian. We also have various bikes, including ebikes, available to test or hire.
